Fluid in rear floor boards
Ok I tried doing a search for this but nothing came up. Here is the issue: fluid (feels like water) accumulates in my driver side rear floor boards. I have not spilled anything in the rear seat and it hasn't rained here in a while (Houston). It has happened on more than one occasion now. The first time it happened I went through half a roll of paper towls and a bathroom towl cleaning it up the first time. I left a full roll of paper towls back there and it soaked through the entire roll (sopping wet entire roll).
Anyone have any idea what might be causing this, I feel like I am going crazy but I can't figure out anything. |

if it is water, you have a leak somewhere, possibly in the door.if the liquid was oily it would be antifreeze, but if it is water it has to be coming from outside the car.do you wash your car on a regular basis ? i once had a car that leaked thru the pasenger window.you may want to see your dealer before your floorboard starts to rust.

Do you use automated car washes?

Check under you front mats to too make sure they are not wet. The collapsed A/C groment could be the cause. It will screw your car up bad.

Unfortunately this sounds plausable. I don't have a sun roof, it hasn't rained in a while, I do get it washed but I checked after the last car wash and didn't notice any water. I also checked around the edges of the back seat floor board and there doesn't seem to be a trail of water from somewhere higher so it appears to be coming from below. I have started running the A/C quite regularly (Houston is hot already). Damn I am going to have to take this thing in again I have already had to replace the drive shaft, the heater core, and brought it back in because they needed to install some special washer on the drive shaft. I love the car but this is getting a little much. |
