I told you folks this Camaro ZL1 is going to be Expensive... I think the $75,000 was a subtle hint at what the MSRP is going to be.. Think about it, if the car was in the $50,000 something dollar range why didn't the quote say "for under $60,000"... Details, details.... Don't hold your breath for the $48,000 MSRP sticker...LoL
I'm sure this car is going to be out of my price range... |

I just wonder whats going to happen when we pre order these on the
29th and some people are priced out of the market for one. I suppose refund on deposit and the dealer can probably change the order to the factory for the next customer. Of course this would have to be around mid November when they announce the MSRP and I would imagine the costs of the options. If these cars start to get over 60k out the door its going to be a budget buster for some at least the 2012 model.

I still think it's a subtle hint that this car is by No Means going to be Cheap and it is No Way going to start @ $48,000 MSRP... I do think the $75,000 statement is probably Overkill but I do believe this car will run about $60,000... I would like to be wrong but who knows...
Maybe not a Starting MSRP of $75,000 but if you have a starting MSRP of about $55,000 and have numerous "options", that I'm sure GM will offer on the ZL1 and if you choose a well optioned ZL1, I could see this car running close to that.. Doesn't Chevy/GM have a few wheel options for the 2011 Camaro that price out at about $5,000 ??? |

I had read months ago, and I'm hoping the starting price is still about $50,000. Base LT Camaro $21,000, Base SS $34,000, Base ZL1 $47,000 - rough numbers.I guess we'll have to wait and see.
That being said, we've seen 2LT/RS's loaded go for above $32,000, we've seen loaded 2SS/RS's go for $42,000 and we will prob see loaded ZL1's going for $60,000+ |

No way in Hell GM is going to have a starting MSRP @ $47,000, not with all the Technology involved and surely not with the recent "Ring times which the ZL1 is now in Super Car territory... It ain't gonna happen in the $47,000 range, you will be lucky if it starts around $53,000 and wait until they post the Drag 1/4 mile times in a week or 2 and if it is in the 11s range, I will be asured it will start at about $57,000, easily...

I'm not trying to knock what GM is done at all...but this close to Christmas, everyone is getting quite giddy it seems. I will be in line for a ZL1 if the price is what I consider reasonable.

Do not expect to see this car priced above 60k base at the very highest and honestly if it gets that high then it's getting into CTS-V territory.. |

you guys are right i said this since day one... it is in competion with the GT500... price and performance... if it was anywhere near the price of high 60's and 70's then they have to say in competion with the gs vette,cts-v, or zo6... meaning it couldnt possibly be in competion with the GT500... that is how market works period... such as bmw and mercedes they are in competion bc they are priced equally or close to in each class... its simple marketing...

you cant compete with a car if you dump more money into bc that brings you in a WHOLE different class!
