Arrow 2013 ZL1 #2419 BUILD [COTW 11/10/14]

Well I finally decided to start a build thread for my 2013 ZL1.

The day I brought her home telling my wife that it was perfect & didn't need any mods, lol isn't that what we all say!?

Since I told my wife I wasn't going to mod the car for a while I decided to do some vinyl work using carbon fiber 1080 scotch-print to give it a different look than anyone else, as well as tinted taillights & side marker lamps.

After the vinyl work was finished I went on to do some paint work! I paint matched the Engine cover, strut brace ends, & the GFX. Needles to say she was beginning to look like a totally different car IMO.

Well i was only content with the cosmetic work and the STOCK HP for about 6 months..... I then decided to jump deep into the modding after saving up a decent amount of mod money! So I then went down to American Intense Racing in Arvada, Co to talk to the owner Clint Baxstrom and see what we could do with the money I had saved. Needless to say we came of with a plan that was a little scary to me at first considering the car only had 3500 miles on the clock. But after some thought I decided it would be worth while and dove right in.

We decided to build a complete forged motor!! With a few extra goodies to set it up for some big boost later down the road! Here is the mod list to date and a few pics for Candy!

1. METCO PULLEYS: 2.5 UPPER, 100MM IDLER, EXTREME DOUBLE BEARING TENSIONER, & SOLID ISOLATOR COUPLING

2. HEADERS: STAINLESS POWER 1 7/8 PRIMARIES & HIGH FLOW CATS W/ 1700* MATTE BLACK COATING

3. CAMSHAFT: AIR CUSTOM GRIND COMP CAM E-MAX, 3 BOLT CAM SPROCKET, W/ UPGRADED TIMING CHAIN

4. VALVE SPRING KIT: COMP CAMS DUAL VALVE SPRING KIT W/ TITANIUM RETAINERS, COMP CAMS CHROMOLY PUSH RODS

5. HEADS: PORT & POLISHED W/ 5 ANGLE VALVE JOB & ARP HEAD STUDS
ORIGINAL CFM WAS 308 NEW CFM IS 340

6. INJECTORS: FAST 90LB/HR INJECTORS

7. COOLING: 160* THERMOSTAT

8. BELT: GATES K080653HD GREENBACK

9. OIL PUMP: MELLING HIGH VOLUME OIL PUMP

10. RX CATCH CAN

11. PISTONS: WISECO FORGED RACE PISTONS

12. RODS: LUNATTI FORGED RACE RODS

13. CRANKSHAFT: STOCK GM FORGED CRANK

14. COMPRESSION: 10.2:1

15. COLD AIR INDUCTIONS CAI ON ORDER

It is being tuned on 91 Octane for now until I get the Squash fuel system then will be tuned for E-85 as well!

Numbers will be posted soon!

You have given me more ideas for more carbon fiber. I was going to pull the parts this winter and have them hydro dipped. Great build, keep it coming!

Glad I can help! I thought about going with hydrodipping but decided to just go with vinyl since I do it myself! Tons more to come!

It's fairly simple, it just takes patience and and lots of time! I run a Vinyl wrapping & plastidipping business and like I tell all my customers vinyl will last as long as you want to take care of it properly! On average though you're looking at about 5-7 years for exterior and 7-10 for interior!

Man! I wish I was going to be in Colorado longer, I would love to have my interior wrapped like that. Oh well! Going to either do it myself or find a good place in Arizona.

That is too bad, as I would definitely hook you up! If you're ever back up this way feel free to let me know if you can't find anyone back home or don't feel comfortable with the DIY!
