Jack minimum height requirement
At what height after you start cranking the jack up on the front side do the wheels come off the ground? I'm looking into buying a jack and I've seen lots of ranges from 13" to 29". How much do I really need if I want to take my wheels off?
Also, what kind of cheap economical tool allows you to put the correct torque on the lugs for the wheels? |

http://www.harborfreight.com/25-ton-heavy-duty-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-68049.html You'll be off the ground enough in 3 pumps. You'll need a torque to torque the lugs. HF sells them rather cheap but the are also cheaply made. If you’re just going to do light to medium duty work I use this one from Auto Zone ($22) and it's worked just fine. Have used it several times to torque my lugs to 140lbs with no issues. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Duralast-3-8-in-drive-torque-wrench/_/N-25fw;jsessionid=0C8C05C35C678F318EF926BBCE3F471A.d iyprod5-b2c15?itemIdentifier=914017_0_0_ |

If you don't get low profile, then you difinatly have to drive up on some wood to boost the car a bit for a regular jack.

I bought a regular floor jack (as opposed to low profile) because I can use it on all of my vehicles. I just drive the Camaro up on 2x8's to get the proper clearance. And I think the lift range on my jack is in the 19-20" range. More than enough to get the Camaro and my wife's car up off of the ground.
