Pushrod Length Question

I am in the middle of installing a night fur cam on my ls3 and I ordered 7.425 rods but i measured and actually nee 7.375 which is the exact length of the stock ones i pulled out. would it be alright to re use the stock push rods rather than order and wait for hardened 7.375's?

thanks

Do not use the stock push rods for an after market cam. I believe Lethal Racing recommends the 7.425" length for the LS3.

I was told 7.40 is too short unless your heads are milled. And that 7.425 would be better choice cuz it would have a better preload on the valvetrain over the shorter 7.40.

Yes, better to not be fighting the springs while torquing them down.

they recommend 7.425 for ls3 and 7.400 for l99. did you add in the preload when you measured. preload of .060-.075

7.425" is correct. Not sure why I was thinking 7.400" for the LS3.
