Parking sensors

A few days ago i was driving down for some grocery shopping into a busy parking lot. When i couldn't park anywhere going front first. I had no choice but to reverse park, which i really hate doing! Im sure people have complained that you cant see sh!t when you're looking behind your seat and the side mirrors only help so much at times. Anyways so there i am trying to get her butt in between this 2 trucks. After i finally managed i ended up coming out of the car to see how far i was from the car behind me. I swear i was 10cm away from the other cars bumper. Almost sharted a brick!

I though maybe perhaps i should get some sensors build into the cars back so it beeps like the garbage truck when it backs up. Another thing that was suggested was getting a rear view camera. I did some research and found you can get a Mirror that has a small built in LCD screen which connects to your camera but that means i would have to get rid of all the On-Star buttons.

I could also get a new desk with the sliding LCD screen but i don't wona replace the desk its already nice enough.

Anyways i don't know wth to do. Perhaps i should just suck it up and learn the dynamics of a car and get a private midget to help me park in tight situations.

LMFAO PRIVATE MIDGET! but yeah you could always buy the parking sensors they should be available now thru GM for about 200 something ... but I love rear parking.

Are you serious dude? Why don't you stop when your front tire is at the same position as the vehicle next to you?

OR...

Learn how to drive. If you're too inept to park it, you don't deserve to drive it.

This car is not that hard to park if you know how big it is. People who can't park are my #1 pet peave, usually its idiots in SUV's but I spread my hate equally.

i've been backing suburbans, excursions, station wagons, duallys into parking spaces as long as i've been driving... still never hit anything & it's much easier (to me) to back in/pull straight out than to pull in/back out

Gentex has a Mirror with an LCD and On-Star - 50-GENK356A - see Mito Corp - http://www.mitocorp.com/auto-dimming...a-display.html.

I considered this back when I first got my SIM - locally installed with the camara would've run me around $600 installed so I passed. There are shops which can install parking assist sensors though I've not investigated them.

I consciously try not to put myself in situations where I'd need to back-up - I pull through parking lot spaces so I can go forward rather than back-up. When unavoidable its a pain I know...
