Although I agree running 93 is best. The manual clearly states you can run regular gas. So saying you MUST RUN ONLY 93 is not completely accurate. If at all possible run premium, but running regular will not hurt your car.

From the 2012 Camaro owner's manual....

Recommended Fuel
If the vehicle has the 3.6L V6 engine
(VIN Code 3), use regular unleaded
gasoline with a posted octane rating
of 87 or higher. If the octane rating
is less than 87, an audible knocking
noise, commonly referred to as
spark knock, might be heard when
driving. If this occurs, use a
gasoline rated at 87 octane or
higher as soon as possible. If heavy
knocking is heard when using
gasoline rated at 87 octane or
higher, the engine needs service.

If the vehicle has the 6.2L V8 engine
(VIN Code W) or the 6.2L V8 engine
(VIN Code J), use premium
unleaded gasoline with a posted
octane rating of 91 or higher. For
best performance, use premium
unleaded gasoline with a posted
octane rating of 93. You can also
use regular unleaded gasoline rated
at 87 octane or higher, but the
vehicle's acceleration could be
slightly reduced, and a slight audible
knocking noise, commonly referred
to as spark knock, might be heard.
If the octane rating is less than 87, a
heavy knocking noise might be
heard when driving. If this occurs,
use a gasoline rated at 87 octane or
higher as soon as possible.
Otherwise, you could damage the
engine. If heavy knocking is heard
when using gasoline rated at
87 octane or higher, the engine
needs service.

In Oregon and Washington states, it is near impossible to find premium gas above 91. So I use 91 and from a place that offers ethanol-free premium.

Based on threads by those that have had 87 octane gas from the dealer, buying an SS and running 87 octane is just throwing away money. Your performance will be comparable to a v6 (or worse in some cases), and you should have just bought one of those. At least run 91 so you remain on the high-octane level table.

Agreed, but this does not mean YOU MUST RUN PREMIUM. The manual quote above even states you can run 87 a the cost of performnce. Will I run 87? No. Im just making a point that these cars can and will run on 87 with out the car blowing up or something stupid the manual even says so.
