So I decided to get a .45 anyway, picked this one up new for a good price. I think I'm done buying guns for a while, lol...

Taking PAL course (restricted) this month. Can't wait.
Canadians likes guns too, just not in our Charter of Rights and Freedoms to bare arms. Wish it was though.

I got a cleaning question for you guys...

I have an AK-47, polymer stock and grip
Also, the P229, and the MP45, both with polymer pieces.

I have been using SEAL 1 CLP, the bio made gun cleaner, non-toxic stuff. Worked well on the AK, but not sure if I should clean the pistols with something else. The SEAL product also claims to be a lubricant, which like I said has worked well with the AK, but should I invest in something else for my newly acquired pistols?

you guys have some impressive stuff here...some of which i have no clue what is what. I have been recently curiouse about the gun field and went out to a local gun range and shot some rounds off (9mm). I did not pay much attension to the gun name or brand but it was fun. I think i was doing decent. i was doing sperts of 5 shots then looking what i did wrong and how i could improve; my best spert was 4 head shots from 20 yards (or whatever the back of the range was.) rest were farly well clustered on body. Seems i can not shake this craving that keeps growing in my gut to buy and fire my own weapon. So of coarse i am looking for a hand gun. Thought i would share - since you are all sharing. you all have any recommended website that relate to this stuff?

I didnt see where you mentioned handgun or rifle.
There is something out there for everyone, so shoot those range guns to get an idea what works best for you.
The 9mm is a good all around weapon. Least expensive center fire if you plan to shoot a lot.
Checkout youtube "hickok45" for a series of his reviews of certain handguns.

Good to ask first before something melts...

I dont know about the Seal bio stuff.

Keep an eye on optical sights. I have seen other products (not CLP) make them dull.

I don't know much about the SEAL product, but if it says CLP for Clean Lubricate Protect then it is supposed to live up to it.

I am a Weaponshield fan, started using it 2 years ago and I can tell the difference. The time between evaporation off metal surface in the safe is incredible compared to regular gun oil. I use it on all my firearms with no problems.

New to the forums here last week, much more activity here than the Porsche forums I've found. Hell, there isn't even a gun thread on the Porsche forums....WTH....guns and cars go together don't they? So here I am with like minded folks, guns and cool cars.

Here's one of my daily carry rigs. HK P30 with an El Paso Saddlery snap-off Elite.
