Angry Slow SS Camaro!! What the heck!!!

Hello all. New to the forum. Had my 2ss black camaro for about a month now. Changed the oil @ 1111 miles and took her to the track for the first time tonight. She is a automatic car and does not run. Made 4 total 8th mile passes and the best pass was 9.998 @ 72mph!!! Sixty foots were between 2.22 and 2.56. Tried it with her in D with traction and stabillitrack on. Tried it with it off. Tried it in performance mode and shifting manual, but she won't run. Times were 9.99 10.00 10.30 9.98. All passes ran 72mph save one @ 71.68mph. What the crap??? My old pickup truck runs 9.60!!! She doesn't run. Feels like an engine management issue or something. No codes or warning lights. No problems that I can feel, smell or hear. So...???? I will not have this car if it doesn't perform. It should go 8.80's in the 8th mile no matter what. Any ideas? Anyone else had this happen. 38k for a car like this is NOT what I bought. Help please.

that 1/8th mile MPH is horrible. That would only be 90 mph through the 1/4!

Watch out for some civics, they might get the best of you!

i'd go bring it up with your dealer. Camaro SS is a fast car obv.
i don't know anything about 1/4 mile racing or anything along those lines, and i won't pretend to. but from what the the previous posters have said, it's not good.

Dealer's the one to talk to.

I can't even put into words how disgusted I am with this. What can I do to get this rectified? What would a dealer have to do? I won't pay for this car if it won't perform as advertised.

Those are horrible sixty foot times. A 2.56! Are you kidding me, it should be in the 1.xx at least.

Don't race with stabilitrak on and let the car shift itself, you were probably hitting the limiter or short shifting it.

My money is on that there is nothing wrong with the car and it's all on the driver.

It was hot down here so the worst I expected was 8.80's. Best 8.40's. but 10.oh's ..... That's not gonna work.

It's all stock. Track could have been better. Didn't make any difference if I or the car shifted itself. Same results. Sixtys could have been better but even in the 1.90's is not gonna make that kind of difference in the lousy mph. I'm not new to drag racing. I did not miss any shifts. The car just seems to lay down. Almost feels like it's only @ half throttle. Also feels like it may be shifting itself from 2nd to 4th. To consistant mph and et wise. Like it's in limp mode. Bet it aint the driver.

1.xx at least?? you don't even know the conditions the track was in. I've been to the track where anything under 2.0x was impossible.

There are too many variables to be making such baseless statements.

My money is on you are an internet racer. Probably a 15 year old wishing he actually had a car to play with. I hear xbox has some pretty cool games. If you're nice maybe santa will bring you one for Christmas.

Ok. Enough of the name calling.

i bet you a million bucks if leatherneck was standing in front of you, you wouldn't talk like that to his face. Have some respect.....

To the OP, there were a few others who had the same issue. I am very sorry that I can't recall who, but there is a thread discussing this. It was fixed. Take it back to the dealer for starters and talk to the service rep.
