I also cant imagine anyone being upset. I'm not disappointed. Numbers? Numbers are pretty impressive if you ask me. Its not like you are going to track race it everyday all day. And if you were then you'd probably be modding it or would have gotten another car. And if numbers bother you that much, then maybe you should have paid more and gotten a different car
Whoever is upset should look at the bigger picture...if you bought, have, or will have a ZL1, you are purchasing a out of the box, track ready, monster of a car for $55k. You will own one of the fastest production cars on the road. There aren't too many cars out there that are straight from the factory at $55k that can beat your ZL1 (unless you dont know how to drive that is...hehehe My best friend has a Nissan 350Z paid $40k brand new stock. He's put in approximately $30k into it and is only putting out 482rwhp. And i dont think his car will put out numbers at the track like the ZL1 did at Nurburgring. So that's (hold on have to use my fingers to count...) uhm...$70k he put into his car So hopefully no one is upset about purchasing a ZL1...PEACE But anyway, that is my $.02

Just the other day I head a poll on the radio that the #1 thing on peoples "bucket list" was to drive a race car....IMO the ZL1 qualifies.
'Bout the only ones that will be upset will be those that thought theirs will appreciate wildly in value. |

It's not who is upset they bought a ZL1. I think it will be hard for someone to admit a 60k regret, and most will find reasons for there purchase (which is a good thing).
The real question is - How many people are taking a step back, and waiting for GM's answer to Ford? I am one of those, as I had my high hopes for the release of the ZL1. |

If you bought a ZL1 just so you could drive 1300 feet in a straight line faster than anyone else, you shouldn't have bought a ZL1.

This is true. I just don't want to be the guy with a 2010 Mustang GT, or 10-12 Shelby owner. There is so much more in the Camaro ZL1. Hopefully we have all just seen the beginning from GM. |

The ZL1 platform is engineered to handle much more HP. One can wait for a GM factory upgrade, or do it onself if drag times are that important to the owner. It's pound foolish for the GT 500 to try to upgrade the car for road course stability and manuverability to beat the ZL1 on a road race. Maybe in their next generation they will develop comparable technology. HP can only overcome so much....there is a diminshing return as Pete has said, and it can be counter productive if the car is not engineered sufficiently to handle it. I'm so sad I have a ZL1.... everytime I park it,...it begs me to go right back out and drive it some more. It's pure adrenaline on four wheels.

How could it be upset when it can handle a G turn as good as a Mclaren and a GT

I'm not understanding all this in regards to not enough power from you OldSchool. I own #205 and it not at all shy. The average MPH in the States is 22. Perhaps you own your own race track. The car is so damn fast. Wanna lose your driver license for life, go out and haul ass everywhere you go. Needs more HP, really ..............

This thread is turning out as I had hoped and suspected. It is a big promotion of the Best Camaro ever. Please notice the lack of Mustang guys? I'm sure they have taken a peek though. Go ZL1!
