Orders begin in 3 weeks. I asked the Brass at GM for a Dusk Edition 1LE.
Not available because of the rims was the reply. COME ON !!!! Why cant someone
roll the rims over to the other side of the building ?
If we could order "one off" unique color combo's and such, owning these cars would be
so much more fun. I own 2 new Camaros now and I would get another 1 or 2 if they were actually unique in color or options.

Went to my dealer today to order my 1LE/2SS and I wanted the HID lights with halo rings. they said it wasn't available in the 1LE but I could get it with the RS pkg. That didn't make sense to me. Can anyone confirm whether they were correct or not?

Thanks

He's a bit confused. Order a 2SS and add the RS package as well as the 1LE package. The system will accept it.

You're the one who is incorrect. The dealer is right, the only way to get HID Headlights with Halo Rings is to order the RS Package.

1LE is not available for order yet. Preliminary orders containing 1LE can not be submitted yet. Anytime I try to submit an order with 1LE, I get an error stating that 1LE is not available for ordering.

It makes 100% sense to me. The Dusk rims are 21". That means different tires, engineering, testing, etc. the 1LE is a track car. I dont see too many cars at the track with 21s.

I havent seen any mention of it, but the Grand Sports with the LS3 and M6 have hand built engines. Wonder if the 1LE will have the same deal? I am thinking not.

How will Chevy handle the RS package on the 1LEs? doesnt the RS package include midnight silver wheels or optional polished? Will there be a small credit?

For $3500? I don't think so. Although I would love if they did. Who knows. The grand sport 1LT isn't that much more expnesive than the 1LT coupe so maybe they will. I think like $6,400 difference.

But I want it now! I think they still have a few details to work out and hopefully they offer a hood wrap delete option with the 1LE.

I know it will be purely speculation, but when do you think GM’s system will allow orders to be placed?

I think Chevy did the right thing by keeping the 1SS 1LE in the $37K range rather than going $39.9k. It gives more spread between it and the ZL1 and may sell more 1LEs.
Plus the 1LE is more likely to be included in incentives that affect the V6 cars and the SS cars while the ZL1s could be exlcuded entirely..
My guess is that a base SS 1LE could be bought for around $33K once incentives kick in next year. $33K was the MSRP for a GTO M6 in 2006.

Hmmm...why do you think incentives will kick in? And when do you think they will kick in? At $37K you are talking about $4K in incentives when the camaro historically doesn't seem to have had many incentives.

I am guessing after the first of the year or in the spring. GM always does something. Sometimes it is dealer cashback or a private coupon.
Figure there is $1500-2000 profit in a 1ss with 1Le. So there only needs to be $2000 in incentives. Might have to wait until the end of 2013 but there will always be incentives on last year's models.

Also my dealer sells for $98 over invoice with no closing fees.
