long tube headers
i know long tube headers are illegal, but is it possible to reuse the cat with the long tube headers, or is it best just to buy high flow cats?
Cause I read that jba has long tube headers which are legal in all 50 states if u use the stock cats? |

no one has longtubes that are legal. As soon as the stock cat is moved 0.000001mm, it becomes non-street legal.
If you're gonna use long tubes, get some hi flow cats or just put straight pipes on. Are you looking at the 6813S headers? |

you will fail visual inspection if they look under the car. I don't know anyone with jba's installed so I'm not sure. If you really want to make sure you pass smog 100%. Keep your stock setup and just swap it back. The long tubes are a direct replacement for the stock headers/cats/midpipe. It bolts up to the stock catback piping if you get the catted midpipe. Should take 5 hours or so to swap them back to original for smog in 5 years. Then another 5 hours every two years or so.

I've got a pair in my garage that haven't been installed yet. There is a meet set up for September 11th in Temecula. I'll have mine on the car by the meet if you want to check them out.

Not to highjack this thread but whats the info on the meet. I will finally have the beast back and I will attend this meet. If you want to see a highly modded Camaro with LT headers I will be there. I am going to be running JBA Longtubes.

Can't move the cats, period. I plan on some shorties myself. The gains are insignificant, but they'll sound better, and looks loads better.

shorties won't get you much gains, unless you get hiflow cats. Those are the single most effective exhaust mod you can do for performance.
