DEAD BATTERY

I have a question. How do you gain access to a locked 2010 Camaro with a dead battery? The electronic key won't work nor will the window drop down to allow the door to open.

I thought I read somewhere that you can pry open the driver's side door after unlocking with the key by pressing the glass down, but I don't know. It's not in the manual?

I guarantee, that after your car gets into an accident and your electrical systems are disrupted, you'll still be able to open the door, whether or not the window indexes. Just imagine the lawsuits...

"my gas tank was on fire, my battery exploded. But I couldn't open the door because the window wouldn't auto-index!!!"

Just pull hard on the door. It will open without hurting anything. I had a dead battery before and didn't have any issue other than having to reindex the door.

Once you used youre key, open the hood and jump if using the assigned cables, you dont need to go back to the trunk to jump the car up.

Open the door as normal just DO NOT CLOSE IT. It will pop out but won't go back in.

Onset key, unlock.
Pull outside handle and tug on door, it will open.
Open hood, attach battery charger and jump start.
Put window down, close door.
Push button on door panel to open trunk if you need in trunk.

Hope that helps.

If you can not get in the car you will not be able to get a jump.

The OP said if the battery was dead. Why would you not be able to get in the car if you're battery is dead?? You know that little metal thing that flips out from your keyfob fits in the door lock. Old school I know, but doors can still be unlocked without fancy electronic gizmos.
