Can a car be replaced after numerous repairs has been made and still no resolution?
I've had numerous repairs on my car (at least 3-4) at my dealership and the problem is still not solved. I know if it were a new car it would more than likely fall under the Lemon Law and it would be replaced. My car is a 2012 and is no longer under warranty. However, the problem has been present since it was under warranty in 2012. Are their any policies in place on how many times a car can be unsuccessfully repaired before you can get a replacement or a car comparable to what you already have. I loved my car at first but now after all these repairs, I'm frustrated and just want it gone.

You would think that the dealer would warranty their own work.

if your talking powertrain, the warranty is 5yrs 100k miles. what not powertrain problem is making you want to get rid of the car? but to answer your question, a 2 yr old car isn't going to fall under lemon laws. in most states the have to fail to fix in 3 attempts within a coupe month period. without trying to sound like an ass, this kind of stuff is what extended warranties are for. you gambled and didn't get one, and you lost.

You can still buy an extended warranty and have it covered. Also if the dealership did the work under warranty and it was not fixed then it is still covered. That has happened to me. Now unless you waited too long to bring it back and the statue of limitations has ran out then I would try an extended warranty. We just had my wife's tranny replaced in her Saturn with an extended warranty that we had purchases through a credit Union and only had to pay $50. The tranny since it was a reman from GM it has a factory warranty until 100,000 miles or 3 years. Right after that we traded it in and she got a Cadillac.

@KLR ZL1 the issue is being attempted to be fixed under warranty but what I'm saying
Is how many repairs can a car get without the problem being corrected? The repairs they have made is not fixing the problem. It's been a lot of gas, frustration, leaving work early and rental cars in the process and even after the latest repair is still makes the same noise. I was just asking what are the odds of getting another car after numerous repairs and if it doesn't seem like it can be fixed. Slim to none I'm sure. Just venting. I work for acura and that is the case, if you paid for diag and repair and it's not fixed, then that is the shop's problem. raise enough hell and either get refund or problem solved and dont't pay a dime extra

carefull with some of those plans too alot of times they will say they don't cover that even though you were told about it when you bought the plan.see it all the time. but sorry they will not replace the car, I've only ever seen that once and it was on a new car with hardly any miles on it, something was wrong with it from factory. good luck

Is there another GM/Chevy dealership you can take it to? Yours obviously doesn't know what they are doing. Or you can contact one of the GM/Chevy reps on this site and see if they may be able to help. Not being in warranty could be a problem though. Also, just curious... if you DID by an extended warranty, why aren't you still covered on a 2-year old car?

Lemon Laws are state specific.
In CA doesn't matter how many owners if the vehicle was purchased and the issue was first diagnosed under the 3/36K coverage.. but vehicles that were used as rentals and then sold don't qualify... Need to check your local state laws..

Do you want to tell us what's wrong with your car? For your question, I don't think that they're gonna replace your car this late. I'm pretty sure they'll do everything they can (even sending it somewhere else) just to get it fix...to avoid replacing it.
