2012 Camaro HID Install
In the past few weeks, I've been looking at a way to install HIDs in a Gen5, and them not have DRL/AUTO light issues.
So, here's what I did.....I used the following pieces. 1) HID Lo/Halogen Hi HID kit (Xentec) 2) 2 Standard SPDT relays 3) Directed Electronics Remote Power Adapter (Part# 55000) Seeing as the output voltage on the DRL's is approximately 5 volts, I used the DEI Remote Power Adapter to power the 2 Standard SPDT relays, which in turn fired the ballasts. This method is proven, and has had zero issues. Using this method gives the HIDs a FULL 12v, regardless of what mode the lights are in. The Remote Power Adapter uses a low voltage trigger to activate, and outputs a full 12v, which fire the relays. Hope this helps everyone in the future. I've used it in the last 5 Gen5 Camaros I did, and not one has had an issue. Z |
