Holy Crap that rear deck moves a ton in the video. That takes a lot away from the quality of the sound out of those speakers too. I have never heard mine make that rattle even with my 12" sub in a probox under the rear deck but I am definately going to pop the trunk and look more carefully. I don't have any interior rattles so far, only the rear wheel well vents if the sub is turned way up. I wonder why the rear deck was made so flimsy? I bet the DynaMat is helping hold the deck better as much as deflecting sound away.

found an easier quick fix. Take a short bungie corn, wrap it around bottom of magnet and hook the hook to side of car somewhere. Just see where it doesn't rattle. Worked for me.

i'd be interested to hear steve's opinion on this, or maybe zach...i've noticed buzzing on these speakers, but sometimes it sounds like the speaker itself, as in you are giving it too much bass/gain. i wonder how much of that is gain and how much rattling. what do you leave your bass set at normally? you don't notice any overloading on the speaker at high volumes?

Tried the screw idea with 1/2" and looks like it really secures the speakers to the deck!!! Great.
My extra two cents: went ahead and bought a few square foot dynamat sheets on eBay for a lil over $20 and going to stick to that whole deck area under the 6x9s for extra absorption :-). Bass all down with 12" subs added should be perfect!

In my old car in the trunk I had cut 2" dynamat squares (which supposedly deaden a square foot area) and I stuck them thruoghout truck about 6" apart... No rattles at all! Inside and out.

happy slappin fellas

I did exactly the same thing with a bungee cord like a year ago and then just tie wrapped the bungee cord to some of the empty holes to keep it flush and need, something about making holes I don't like!

I haven't had a rattle, but the rear deck (and speakers) were pulled to tint the rear window. At which point RAAMat was installed. So that is likely working like what you guys are stuffing in there.

Coming Soon..

I am in the process of making a plate that you put into the rear deck so that you can either put in a far better speaker WithOut having to remove the rear deck cover.
the plate will either accept a 6.5 round speaker or a 6x9 speaker..
it will also have 4 optional screw mount areas so that if you really like to crank you will be able to add the extra holding screws..

hope to have them in production this summer..

then you can add speakers that will blow the cheap crap Chinnese made wanna be boston acoustics speakers away...

That would be cool, but you have to remove the rear deck to get the factory speakers out...

Thread revival, just did this to mine and added two extra screws per speaker, and it helped incredibly. If you're on the fence about doing this, stop hesitating
