Did you tape it off so your ABL still shows through? I painted mine and use a color called Dark Knight, a metallic black. I polished it and it became lighter very very similar to cyber grey metallic. I did my steering wheel and speedo trim in Dark Knight but didn't polish it. I polished it because it it was "rough" and not smooth.

If I don't buy ZL1 panels and dash trim, I'll repaint them in a satin black (maybe that is what you mean by soft touch) or something and fix the part where the ABL shines so it looks better. I haven't gotten around to doing the dash pieces...

What I mean by soft touch is that it feels like velvet. It's not soft it's just weird feeling. I did not tape off the abl. We used PPG vc5225 clear, that's what makes it feel like it does.
