The pre-order generating a # is just a number and was used for marketing data. The fact that you want a 2LT/RS is GREAT. You will get your car and probably an early car. You are the target market, V6. Also, let me say, THANK-YOU for your service to our Country!

IMO, GM is ultimately at fault. They should have EASILY been able to see after the first week or two of pre-orders what the % makeup was heading towards. That was almost 3 months ago. Shame on them for not paying attention. THEY HAD THE INFORMATION.

So, "Sharon Peters Chevrolet" learns in October that they have an allotment of 5 camaros. They sell all 5 of those as SS "pre-orders".

Now, 3-4 months later GM is going to tell them how many of the 5 alloted cars are going to be V6's and V8's?

Is that understanding correct CamaroGreg?

I AM upset about the way they have handled the pre-order program.

1.) Guess what? If the V8 models are really this constrained, DEALERS ARE GOING TO MARK THE FIRST ONES UP. You may have a deposit in with them for MSRP or better, but that doesn't mean that contractually, you going to get the first few that come in. You are going to wait.

Apparently, the pre-order program really meant nothing. If dealers don't know what the mix of V6 versus V8's was on the initial allocation, they over ordered V8's and the orders are not going to line up. Some people are going to wait for a long time.

2.) Vechicle purchases are a major financial decision, and they need to be timed to fit into peoples schedules. Right now, we have no idea when to expect a vechicle. After having orders for 4 months, GM should be able to provide dealers with an estimated production date, or an estimated production month. Then people would be able to decide if they want to keep the pre-oder in place. I don't mind waiting, but I want to know when to expect my car.
Correct, get ready it is going to get thick quick! Good luck to you all on recieving your SS in a timely manner the way you want it, If the constraint is bad enough no dealership is gion to except a discount price, even MSRP. God I am pissed.

Man, you guys are getting too worked up over this, reading more into it than it is and in general, letting your blood pressure get all worked up over something that really isn't that big of a deal.

A 4 week delay isn't that big of a thing, people. It gives us time to save more money for the car, time for the roads to clear of snow and gravel, and time for GM to make sure this car is the best it can be at launch.

what a bunch of BS. i like the other info but that first thing really steams me up.
i like the calipers as black and re/white print.
HP #'s sound good.
and this discount thing you speak of, it gets applied to ALL camaro's from the getgo? so things like 0% financing, or 3,000 off, or GM employee pricing?!?! if thats true, my dealer is going to be upset thinking they are going to get me for MSRP.

I'm not surprise. That is why GM called it the 2010 Camaro not the 2009. Also GM should of went up two more HP instead one like the Iconic 427.

The delay is not the cause for the frustration... it's the fact that GM will not be producing V8's in accordance to our orders, which now appear completely worthless. Some people may not see their ordered V8's until next year.
