HP #'s sound good.
and this discount thing you speak of, it gets applied to ALL camaro's from the getgo? so things like 0% financing, or 3,000 off, or GM employee pricing?!?! if thats true, my dealer is going to be upset thinking they are going to get me for MSRP.
Again, IT IS UP TO THE DEALER WHETHER OR NOT TO ACCEPT GMS/GMU (employee/supplier) PRICING.

I'll have to check with them and see..but I can honestly say the more I read the more I am disappoint on a preorder basis.....you are right they never promised anything but they were a little missleading especailly if 30% of the so called 7000 SS are pushed off till next year.....someone can have mine.....they may get to a 50/50 split real soon.

It shouldn't take so long to produce 10,000 cars, but when you mix that with all of the other cars for the dealers and such, they are spreading it out. I don't necessarily like it, but hopefully, that just means the weather will be that much better when it arrives.
I cannot believe that anyone would have planned their current car situation based on expecting their preorder to be built at the start of production and delivered in March. That's a very naive view of how cars in general are produced and how NEW models are produced ESPECIALLY.

Ordering a car gives you NO assurance it will ever be built. The only date you can be assured of is when GM informs you the planned date your car will be built. And that won't happen until just before it is built. Until then you MUST plan for your order being held up for any number of reasons.

That's BS. Dealers had their (total) allocation numbers prior to/on Oct 13th. Why would they anticipate that allocation % V6/V8 would end up being dictated by how GM decides to produce them instead of how we ordered them? This is NOT the dealer's fault IMO. GM knew looking as the preorders flowed in over the past couple months that ONE THING WAS CONSISTENT=> 3:1 V8/V6

My dealer even wrote on my order that I'd have my SS by July.............. Maybe he's an idiot or maybe GM dropped the ball on setting the expectations to their dealers. I'm thinking a little of both but primary the latter.

I agree, dealers were given allotments and they sold them. Thats what dealers do, sell cars. If GM wants to micro manage thier allotments 4 months later, I will not placing blame on my dealer...

I wonder if this has to do with the loan from the fed. GM might have agreed to producing more fuel efficient cars by a % thus cutting back on the v8s and having to pay back the loan if this was not followed.
sorry just a thought

I'M THINKING MOST DEALERS WOULD HOPE PEOPLE WOULD BAIL ON THERE ORDERS AFTER THIS INFO....

AS LONG AS THE SPECS WERE GOOD THEY COULD MAKE ANOTHER 5 PLUS GRAND???? WHO KNOWS???

I'D SAY KEEP YOUR ORDER IN...ITS MONEY IN THE BANK.....

Two points:

1. What happened to, "production resumes Jan. 12?" and

2. Notice the production start has been moved back until AFTER GM has to give the feds its reorganization plan? What does that tell you?

Money in my dealer's bank, not mine. How long will I be loaning him $1000? (rhetorical question)
