Doubt you saw a bone stock putting down that rwhp. 57hp loss from crank seems too low.

Agreed, and not just because this is a Camaro forum and we all own one..
Dodge seems to still only focus on straight line vs balance. While the Hellcat has a clear advantage in hp I would love to see some real world tests on tracks and as DD..

Perhaps they're under-rating it from the factory?

This one did 642 bone stock. Close enough to call it 650, if you ask me...more results of other cars on p. 3 and 4 of that thread...

the trap speeds are tipping their hats that these things are underrated

707 is probably the first 700hp number that passed certification and they said "fine"

The other thing to remember is that this ecu is locked down like fort knox. This is not like GM or Ford - the aftermarket for Mopar sucks these days and it is because they lock their ecu and do not want people modding it.

Had mopar/chrysler/dodge/fiat - decide that they would help the aftermarket like gm and ford - we would see 1000hp hellcats already.

C7 corvettes were making 1000hp and running 10s/9s what a month after release?

These Hellcats are bone stock

I for one am happy that Dodge locked it down. This rules out the cheating. I am also much more impressed with great stock passes, rather than how much money did you spend modified passes. Go over to the SVT site and you will see 10-sec pass after 10-sec pass out of the modified 5.0 and GT500, honestly it gets boring. On the other hand watching a completely stock car run a low 11 is pretty impressive IMO.

1200hp and 7sec 1/4 mile passes and it still won't look as good imo but to each his own.

A few articles actually say the hell at produces closer to 750 at the crank. The zl1 had a great driver. Hellcat didnt.

Wish we coulda seen that ZL1 vs. the Bike if it could beat that hellcat woulda been nice to see it against the bike. Bt i agree ZL1 Driver has mad driving ability either way Zl1 will likely come out on top of Hellcat more then Dodge would like in track and drag.

The ZL1 had DRs on it. I watched a few Hellcats run the 1/2 mile at Ocala a while back, one went around 145 in the 1/2 and another one went 153 with Don Garlits driving. For comparisons sake my Z went 160 fighting for traction the whole time. I was at 625 whp at that time.

I read somewhere that the hellcat transmissions can only support an extra 50 crank hp until they need massive upgrading. Is this true?
