U Have Seen This on Oil Changes?

For this reason (see link) I go 5000 on mobil 1 and ignore the computer, which would put me closer to 8,000. If a repost sorry. I did not see it here or in the oil section. Posted here as more would see it. Soon to be moved for sure.

Yeah, never trusted the computer even as far back as my 2001 Yukon. Certainly not with me baby!

This in an isolated case involving one kind of engine.

If you're really worried you can always send a sample off for testing at a quality testing facility. I sent a sample off one time at the 8k mark and the results came back that it was still good for 3-4k more miles. Which btw would have put it almost in line with the cars computer.

". According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes"

exactly which one of those are you driving? it's a simple software error. the OLM's work fine and there's no reason to change your oil any more often.

Wasn't there some issue a while back with the LLT's oil life monitor? Thought they reflashed the ECM to make it prompt for changes at 5000 miles, instead of closer to 10000. Haven't heard of issues with the LFX.

I have a 2011 1LT that I switched over to full synthetic Mobil 1 and was wondering at what mileage I should change it now? I think I'm around 7,056 miles and 16% oil life remaining on the DIC. With the full synthetic can I safely go to 0% or what miles should I change it? I check levels and add when needed religiously so I'm never actually low on oil...

then why aren't you reporting every problem on every GM vehicle if your worried that it could also be present in the camaro?

With the miles I put on my car and just regular but sometimes spirited driving ,I just change mine in spring and again in fall (2k-5k miles a year on avg) well within my oil life indicator for warranty purposes(not counting the change right after the break-in period)
