I think I figured it out with the help of @JerTM.
Seems there are two versions of the VARARAM intake. One requires a tune, the other does not. The tuned version states it'll cause idle issues if run on the car untuned. Also, they list a MAF sensor that has issues with their intakes. So I'll check the MAF pn# and get it tuned to see if that fixes the issue. MAF page: http://www.vararam.com/camaro.html

If the car is an auto I would say the idle RPM is about the same as mine. 500 or just slightly higher and I am tuned but with a stock intake only.

My MAF is a good one according to the number, so it shouldn't be an issue.

I went from a 2001 Cobra to a 2014 1LE, went from micro suede leather seats to better micro suede seats, IRS to IRS, and Dohc with a Eaton swap to pushrod and 100 more cubes and never looked back.
Plus chevy don't wheelhop, cobra IRS doesn't very bad |

If your going to hammer it, cheapest upgrade I found was the cradle bush inserts, stopped the bum wobble with hard acceleration, also help alot with wheel hop, as I get none at all now.
