5 foot tall camaro drivers
hey now,
my wife is in the market for a 2012 black/black 2 ls, it is supposed to come in on the 3rd of jan. she test drove another 2 ls they had on the lot and said she could hardly see over the cowl hood to see what is on the right of the car. now my question to everybody does your short wife or yourself( 5 ft 1 or so ) get use to driving the car? on my silverado ss clone i bought a kit off of ebay to raise the drivers seat a bit and it made a world of difference, i am sure i could fab up a simular deal for the camaro. she went back today and sat in a rs with a power seat and raised it all the way up and she said it made little difference. i want her to get this car but she is now resisting because of this issue. any comments? thanks, dave |

I'm 5'3" and have no troubles at all, but I am more comfortable with the driver seat all the way up.

I got my girlfriend a nice black pillow and it made a world of a difference for her... It was cheap and I use it for napping lol she hated not being able to see when she sat in the passenger

My wife is 5' 4" and raises the seat and has no issues with seeing. Also it is recommended not to mess with the seats due to the air bag sensors.

IMO, the 2012 seats sit up higher...
I have to "duck" in my '12 where in my '10 I was fine. Both had sunroofs. But I say get her a pad or something to put in the seat.

I am about 5 7 give or take and at first I had a little trouble seeing the right corner of the car but now that I'm used to it it doesnt bother me much anymore.

My bride is also a realitive midget at 5'2" and hasn't any problems..........seat up high, steering wheel adjusted fowards and down........seat all the way forwards, hands at 10 & 2, elbows bent outwards............mammory glands pressed against the air bag and gas peddle jammed downwards with great force. She seems to do just fine getting out of other drivers way in a hurry....................one might suppose that her viewing vantage points are of no concern as she's always hell bent on distancing herself a half mile from slower drivers. The highway is hers........................................

I can kinda slip down in the seat and fit, but if I want to set in the seat properly with butt all the way back and such, my head rubs a lot. I have my seat all the way down...I wonder if there is a mod to get the seat lower...it sure would help.

Agreed, get the power seats. I'm 5' and don't have any problem with visibility. I have a 2011 1LT and absolutely love driving this car.
