jeff, i did go to gm and they checked os, i did not have latest firmware . old firmware deleted and new firmware installed-12637084- 1-power launch calibration , 2-calib generic scan tool, 3 diagnostic calib, 4-proper speed ,onstar, 4-new software , 5-compressor protection...this is what latest update pertained to..my buddy did it and gave me all print outs and showed me all changes made..i,m ready. thanks again

btw, is 9 boost the consensus on safe tune ? how about some feedback on this #...appears that will is runnung 9 , on his tunes , and must feel good with that...jeff? anyone ? thanks

  I just gott back last night from running to Wyoming to pick up a customers car.. WHY I OFFER THAT IS BEYOND ME..   I will be figuring out the build timeline, and seeing if I can juggle the cars to get it in, and done. I've gottta go to Socal on either tues or wed to drop off Steves car, so we'll do the best we can, but we just gotta make sure we can move the builds around without bumping other paid customers. Yeah, they are Doug Thorley shorties, and Doug Thorley catback, with full cats...
But shorties, historically dont really make any extra power on boosted LS cars over stock manifolds, and those cat backs are about as quite as they come. I would love to know if they actually make any extra power on stock cars.. People would be amazed at how well the stock manifolds actually flow. GM just has an uncanny way to cork them back up with pre-cats, cats, resinators, AND mufflers. What in the world were they thinking by adding not 1, but 4 restrictions on each side... . Those stock mufflers are the size of a 5 gallon drum. Quote:

084 is the firmware you want. Any other one, and its wrong..
Also, this is a VERY important mental note.. The GM VIS system is WRONG. So far, 100% of every car that has beeen checked on GM's VIS system, has been inaccurate. We had a shop call GM customer service, AND 2 seperate dealerships. All 3 of them told the shop they had the latest firmware. They attempted to load the program, and it baked the PCM. Come to find out, GM's system is inaccurate. They only way to be sure, is to have your local dealer check it. Also, if you have a shop in your area that has HP tuners, they can scan the car real quick, and tell you what OS you have. But as I stated previously, 100% of all KB programmers now have a failsafe built in. It does not load, or even attempt to load, until the programmer has pulled AND CHECKED your current OS. If you do not have the current OS, and your kit is already installed, we DO have a way to load your tune on your current OS. You just need to call and have the new programmer sent out. Quote:
