The Hurst 3916030 shifter will not fit the ZL1 Camaro. Hurst needs to produce a new billet/plus especially for the ZL1. Check out the link that says the p/n 3916030 will not fit ZL1: http://www.lmperformance.com/53776/119.html |

but they are the same in terms of compatability.the only thing that you have to change out is the shifter knob.the hurst billet plus shifter is a screw on type but it comes with a ball type shifter knob that just screws on .it is 3/8x16 and the stock zl1 is a non screw slip on shifter knob.the hurst will work just fine without any mods.there is no difference between any v8 camaros(ss,zl1) when you change out the shifter.

You could pull on that thing till you dislocated a shoulder and it still wouldn't budge. There is a set screw that holds the stock knob on. Check out this thread. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t=shifter+knob |

Thanks
I just went out and checked and you were correct! There is a set screw as it says in the tread. Back at it in the morning and reinspired.
Many Thanks. |
