22" rear 20" front

I see that the concept Camaro is running 22" rear with 21" front. Does anybody know of any pics with a 22" rear with a 20" fronts as most wheel makers don't make a 21". I looking at getting wheels and know for a fact that i want a 22" rear but not a 22" front. A taller wheel in the rear gives it a more aggressive stance. But im to chicken to buy 22"Rear and 20"Front before i see it pictured. Im looking at these (Foose Legends) showed below and am trying to contact Foose about a rear 22".

20" pictured below

I wish you could put traction bars on these cars.

I love that aggressive stance. However, I don't think putting such a big rear wheel is wise.

It won't look right. The Camaro does not have a raked wheel height like some other cars. The fender openings are the same size and the tire heights are the same size front to rear. When you go with a smaller front wheel, that means you must use a thicker sidewall front tire to make up for the height difference. This will make the rear tire look very thin on the sidewall, and the front tire look fat and chunky. Sort of the opposite of what is typical in a performance/muscle car (bigger looking tires usually on back, not front)

Ultimately, it is up to you, I'm just trying to save you from spending a few grand and ending up unhappy.

Tony

Instead of different size rims with all the associated costs and issues, why not try different profile tires? Try a 30 profile in front and a 40 in back or something like that. That way if you don't like it or the car handles too weird, you can just go back to the same size tires and it's an easy fix.

Just be advised that using different tire diameters front to rear could disable or throw off your ABS braking system, as well as traction control.

HAVE YOU GUYS LOOKED UP AT THE PICS...IT LOOKS KILLER...even that orange one up top...if he stuck a 22" in the rear it would look that much better. alot more aggressive....

I going to stick to my guns on this one with a larger diameter wheel on the rear. Maybe do a 1.5" drop up front and a 1.25" in the rear. I think if it looked that out of place they wouldn't have had it on the concept Camaro. I actually was at Walmart the other nite and seen a Corvette with a bigger wheel in the rear and it looked great.

When i had my 350z dealers all said the same thing about ABS and traction control with smaller tire diameters. I still put lower profile tires on and went against thier recomendations and everything turned out great with NO problems. And i got the look i wanted.

Agreed ~ 22" all around looks killer. 20/22 is something that people call us about all the time, but we never end up selling.

I agree with Tony here. I don't think it will look right/good at all. (Like that '69 you put up. Nice car, but wheel selection and size is just WRONG!!) Just my opinion buddy. It's your car, your call.
Also, if you throw down the extra cash, Foose may make that 22 for you at a special cost!
Good luck.

Also here's another pic of a Camaro fitted with 24" rear 22" fronts as IMO this looks good also. And with a 22" you will have more room for tire options...As i don't want a 24"

I also called MHT wheels and they do sell the 22" to fit the Camaro same priced as other 22" Foose Legends...

I'm really suprised nobody on this forum is doing this (bigger wheel in the rear than front) to thier Camaros..oh well the car is only a year old. Most of the cars on Foose "Overhaulen" he's doing this set-up...looks sweet..IMO

Im sold on these....

We don't see as many staggared setups with new Camaros since the wheel wells are the same size front and rear. It wasn't the case with classic muscle.

22" all around looks great ~ we've done 20's, 22", and 24". Pics are in the << Savini >> wheel thread.
