RFP Ordering Strategy Will this Approach Work?
If ordering a new Camaro convertible and know exactly how I want it to be optioned out you are really reducing the dealership to a paperwork facilitator.
Would it not make some sense to pick out 4 or 5 respected dealers in my area and simply send the new car managers of each location an e-mail or stop in the dealership and ask them to bid your car to your spec and leave it at that and may the best man win?? If I send out an e-mail to each asking for their best price what is the chances they will respond? Is this a fair and reasonable approach? If not what is the best way to get the best price for an ordered Camaro?? Thanks for your input. |

That's a great way to do it. Each of the 4 or 5 dealers will send you a price quote, then you choose the one that's the cheapest. I am an Internet Sales Manager at a SUPER HIGH VOLUME Chevy dealership, and this is what I do all day long. Tell me what you want and I will send you a price quote (a very competitive price quote). Then you can use it as a gauge when dealing with your local dealerships. I can also do a search in your area and find one for you. What's your zip code?
