I think I'm getting these F1 G2 tires on my next set!!!
Do they fit the SS 20x9 rims, at least the 285 fronts?

Congrats!
If the launch control senses that it has to kick-in to limit wheel spin, then the car is slowing down because of it. A dead hook with zero wheel spin is the goal here. Launch control only stops you from going completely up in smoke. It reduces power to the wheels which is never a good thing in a drag race. Call it a traction band-aid rather than a traction aid. The two step on the clutch is cool.

Not recommended as they will stick out a little, but have seen people do worse...like put 305 on a 20x9 in Charger wheel.

I'm sure next year the GT 500 will win....the following year who knows....just enjoy what we are getting....from both camps....its all good.
It would be pretty cool if we can see a 11-12 GT500 Vs ZL1 to confirm that. Because so far with the times posted, its a drivers race. Not really the "GT500 Killer" it was made out to be..

Makes you wonder why they tested against the BOSS 302 and not the GT500?...

How can you guys advance such a thing? The numbers with DRs on stock were not mentionned here...so how do you compare?

Never mind found the info........ and again :cl ap:

UPDATE: We've placed a call to Chevrolet inquiring whether these times were recorded on stock tires, as the press release indicates, or on drag radials. We'll add another update as soon as we hear back.

*UPDATE TWO: The times quoted in the press release – 11.93 for the auto and 11.96 for the manual – were recorded on the stock Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 tires. According to Chevrolet, the team knocked about a tenth of a second off those numbers with the Mickey Thompson drag tires.

Now Ford where are those Shelby times ....:emoticon7:

I was planning on swapping my Goodyears for some Nitto 555R's, but seeing that you can cut 1.6x 60's with street tires I'm sticking with stock tires.

I've called no one a liar. Rather, I have pointed out, along with others, the mis-management of information. If you have nothing to offer but assumption and false innuendo, you are of no benefit to this thread.
You're right you didn't call GM liars my mistake. You did however say the following "The issue IS about what the TRUTH is, which is still up for grabs." Forgive the idiot in me but I read this as you thinking the article printed according to you is not truthful and your using the video they posted to refute their own article. Sir if I'm an idiot your just plain stupid.

It is important to understand the difference between a lie and poorly expressed information. Lieing is intentional. Poorly expressed info is just that, poorly expressed, thus creating the confusion that was created. I'll let you look up "assuming" on your own time.

Sweet!! Glad the times were on oem's!

see? the way he talked confused me. they said that they ran stock. but that they brought drag radials with them. there's one spot where it looks like they're showing the red one running on what looks like drag radials. they're not being very clear on which way it was run.
and lest i forget.......44 is not scant at all.

"The team took two new ZL1’s with them to the drag strip; both an automatic and a manual. At the track they bolted up a set of 18” Mickey Thompson drag radials on Z06 wheels to the silver automatic trans car, and a stet of 20” Nitto drag radials on stock ZL1 wheels to the red manual trans ZL1. Neither car disappointed with the extra grip, with both ZL1s blasting out a string of impressive high 11 second runs with no performance modifications beyond the tires."
if that car's only going high 11's on drag radials, something's wrong.
