Ugh Dad is trying to one up me....
So It all started when my father got a 2005 g35 a few years back. Bragging to me about how fast and nice it was. Fast forward a bit and I get to have the upper hand with 2010 LS3 Camaro. I knew seeing it would fill his mind with a bit of envy but apparently he will not let his son outdo him.
Shows to me today that he is in the process of getting a 2007 M6 SMG. Damn him...I may get him to track it once up against my camaro. Question is how close of a race will it be? I was amazed to find out it had a little north of 500hp but only 380+ torque. Would it be a close race? If not what kind of horsepower am i gonna need to be back on top? |

Are you sure about that ? http://media.caranddriver.com/files/...w-m6-specs.pdf 0-60 in 4.1, 1/4 mile in 12.4 @ 121 mph! Had no idea they were that quick! My friend's i/e tuned SRT8 Challenger 2009 with 100 shot of nitrous traps only 118! The 7-speed SMG has exceptionally short gears and extremely quick shifts.... It's 6th gear is 1:1 ratio. You would definitely need at least 100 shot to keep up, 150 shot may give you the win. |

What year M6 is that link about?
here is some online info on the 2007 model: http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW-M6-Timeslip-20107.html http://www.edmunds.com/bmw/m6/2007/ The 1/4 mile info is about 2/3 down page. In any case the M6's are faster than a lot of people know but with a the right mods/tires a Camaro SS should be able to run with it. |

you will need full boltons + tune, otherwise get a blower/turbo if you want to be extra sure.

You guys think your cars will trap 120+ with full bolt ons and tune ? M6 traps more then that, even if you did trap that you would be right with M6.

With bolt ons and a tune I may or may not have been slightly ahead of a 2012 m6 from a roll after I stopped accelerating in 3rd gear.
