Called out by a modded Coyote
Hey guys so the moment has finally presented itself lol. Its pretty much a good natured fun run all in fun.
A friend of mine has a 2013 5.0 6 speed with a tune, exhaust, cold air intake, headers, boss intake, full suspension, He is a decent driver and is putting down 460 on streets. My car is a 6 speed manual, cammed, lt headers with full exhaust, cai, and a good tune. I'm putting down 478/422 to the rear with crappy cheap rear tires. I am very comfortable and now familiar with my car as of now and am a decent driver as well. I know he is lighter and has suspension work done but just trying to get an idea of what I can expect. I ran a few stock 5.0's since my mods and I walk them pretty easily but never ran a full bolt on one as of yet. It seems they pull on the lower end but I kill them on top end (cam). We are gunna run from a dig and a 30 roll. I might slap on a set of new nitto street tires in the back if I have time (I work oilfeild) and the hours are insane. Anyway lmk guys your .02 and any suggestions to help me out. Thanks |

you'll stand a better chance on the 30 roll... from a dig, he's def going to come out of the hole faster. should be fun regardless.

Post a vid! I'd put money on the mustang...he's lighter for sure but a full bolton mustang like that with a good driver is a mid 11 sec car...Does he have 373s? And yeah from a roll ist a totally diff game, you have a better chance there.

I thought 5.0's pulled harder up top?
My money is on you from a roll for sure. Dig....eh id still bet on you but you will need to get pulling pretty hard up top to hold it off.

Way too many variables, and traction will be key. I've seen bolt on 5.0s with those mods go mid 13s all night, and others high 10s. It all depends on driver, traction, and setup. There is such a huge swing of how fast that car could be.
My car is a mid 11 second 5.0 with no boss intake, no headers, no full suspension, and only 388rwhp so 460rwhp should be a lot faster.

His is a manual 6 speed. Im definitely getting some better rubber for out back before we run (this weekend). Getting a go-pro for this so I can post results win or lose. My gut instict is telling me I can get him on a 30+ roll but from a dig he will take me and claim the victory. It will def be a dog fight because we are both decent (above average) drivers and both have fast cars. His suspension work is going to hurt me for sure because he will hook way better out the hole.
Thanks again guys, I'm looking forward to it and am anxiously awaiting the weekend. |

With those mods and that boss intake im sure he's twisting to at least 7500rpm so I doubt you will pull him at all. Dig or roll he's gonna get you.

Unless you shaved the weight of that 5.0 by about 1000lbs and put on slicks, I call BS on mid 11's with 388rwhp.

Look at Camarojt with his bolt on L99. He makes 390rwhp and runs 11.44 at 117 mph.
