I got my TCM & ECM tune from Vector Motorsports and could not be happier with them. The stage 2 TCM tune is flat out wicked.

Ted Jannetty can tune it remotely.. I can persoanlly vouch for his tune and he does a great job. Your car will run better than it does from the factory, plus he can turn off the annoying AFM.

Ragin Racin in Louisiana is a good bet. If your car has anything past simple bolt-ons, I wouldn't try to rely on a mail-order tune.

we go back and forth for some of the more complex cars using our PowerCal scanner. I would say for your typical mail order tune for well modded cars may not be a good idea but for tuners with the ability to work back and forth it can be done with great sucusses. Ive remote tuned G6's to ZR1's |

If you have done a car with the exact same modifications before, then sure, it'll work out. If there is a way to relay data back and forth, then sure... I'm speaking strictly in terms of canned crap.
My biggest gripe with e-mail tuning anybody's car is that I can't personally feel/hear what's happening. That's why I'm not a huge fan, and prefer to be there in the flesh. |

I guess you'll have to be more specific as to "canned crap" I dont look at our tuning as canned crap. |

Canned crap would be the 'performance tunes' that the SCT handhelds ship with and other tuners pass off as their own and/or being custom.

Agreed there's different types of tuners out there. Especially since you mentioned if they had experience with a "certain setup" which is good and all but that doesn't mean there aren't changes from OS to OS and engine to engine. Any good calibrator knows that every setup is different no matter how small.
So it's best to approach every car in the same manner. Because just slapping someone elses tune in another car rarely anything but productive. It's best to start fresh and calibrate every car properly form start to finish. As for being there, that's where the experience comes in of being able to interpret datalogs and drawing conclusions from that and being able to implement what you find form the logs in the tune. |

a good, quality custom tune can be had remotely, if given the proper data logs/info to work with... |
