New GM Connects Page?

When checking the status on my ZL1 this morning, I noticed it directs me to my Chevrolet dealerships web page instead of the generic GMConnects page. The car status is unchanged (still 4B00). Could this be a sign that things are moving? They did clearly state that an announcement would be made before cars start shipping, so I am not getting too excited. Anyone else observe this on GM Connects?

I went to gmconnects and it was a different page, it shows my selling dealer and its inventory choices, and when I go to Sport chevrolet it showed that they had 1 zl1 in inventory, and it is my vin number. So mabe when your dealer gets the paperwork gmconnects changes the configuration of the site. Just my guess. It is good to see a representation of your car at the dealer inventory. It shows in transit. Tim

GMConnects will now send ALL Cadillac/Buick/Chevrolet and GMC customers to their dealerships website when inquiring about their order. This is a new feature and applies to ALL users of GMConnects. This upgrade was necessary due to our long term goal of providing this service to ALL GM dealerships for ALL GM customers.

More exciting changes at GMConnects are coming soon!

Thanks for the response Hylton. It would be really nice if the new GM Connects system integrated in the rail transit tracking so you could track your car like a UPS package. When the cars do ship, will the rail car # and carrier be published on my status?

We used to provide that information and hope to be able to add it again soon. Your dealership can give you railcar information. When you receive word from GMConnects that your vehicle has left the factory, contact your dealership and ask them to give you the railcar information. They have that information available to them.

That is unusual. Perhaps they are simply trying to attract customers.

They wouldn't. None of them have been shipped, yet...therefore none have been invoiced.

Until they're invoiced, all ZL1s are still the property of GM.

Just go in and talk to them. Ask them why they are doing this. I still think it's only to attract customers.
