2014 SS Question re. air conditioning
Hey guys. I just bought a 2014 2SS a few days ago and needless to say I love the car. I've been reading the forum profusely and learning as much as I can. I do have a question about the AC. Whenever I start the car the AC comes on automatically. I also noticed that on the display screen it says Auto on the icon that indicates air flow (i.e. fresh vs. recirc). I then turn the AC off manually. Is this an issue or am I missing something about the way it's supposed to operate? Thanks for the help.

my 14 does the same thing, only sometimes, my 11 did not, not sure if this the way it is meant to work or if its a problem as it only happens sometimes

Even when my AC is turned off in my '14, it still leaks air whether it be turned to heat or cold which is still nice (and doesn't bother me).

I have noticed the same thing. Then a day or two ago the AC would not come on at all. No heated seats either. No defrost or fan. But the next day when I started the car everything was working again. Hoping that it was a fluke and not something more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I may be wrong but..I think when you shut the air off and it still blows lightly is because after the condenser is turned off air is blown through the system to dry up any moisture in the system to eliminate funky smells and issues

If I turn the fan to "off" the AC does not come on when I start the car. If I leave it wherever it was when I was driving it, the AC comes on with restart.

That makes a lot of sense and matches what I have seen with mine.

If you have the air coming from outside, fresh instead of recirculate, it will always blow air into the cabin no matter if the fan is on or not. I tend to like this as it's just a little bit of airflow. If you don't like it, just switch to recirculate.
