Please help-Just bought slightly used SS/RS convertible.
Hi everyone my name is Mike I'm new here. Thanks for reading.
Just bought a 2012 SS/RS convertible with 9,350 miles on it. Bought it online and had it shipped and so far so good. BUT.... It did NOT come with a tonneau cover. I called the dealer they are sending me one. Where is it stored typically? What else should it come with? I only have a cargo net and a tire inflator. So should it come with: -a wind restrictor? Is that part of the RS package if it's a convertible? Or is that a GM aftermarket part? -a lighter, that would go in the aux ports? -anything else? also, where is the tire repair kit? Any other things I should check? I NEED to get this resolved right away as time is running out. I received the car last Wednesday. Thanks! |

I don't have a SS/RS but i believe (and the others will correct me if I'm wrong) that the wind restrictor is a aftermarket part/accessory, the Camaro doesn't come with any lighter package with the car(accessory purchase afterward), and the tire inflation kit is in the trunk under the carpet if the previous owner left it in.

I bought the same type of car. Tree is an option for a spare (what we have) or an inflation kit. It is located under the carpeting in the trunk. There is a rotary knob you en to access the spare well. The tonneau cover is in a vinyl case and fits in the trunk under the pull out top support/clearance shelf. I didn't get the net so you're up one on me. No wind restrictor...that's an expensive aftermarket part. No lighter unless you have a smokers package.

Actually, the original post doesn't show whether it is a 1SS or 2SS. The tonneau cover is standard on the 2SS, but think it was only an option on the 1SS.
Just make sure that the posts for the cover are actually installed. |

Yes, I believe the 2LT, 2SS and ZL1 have the cover as standard equipment.

The OP stated that he bought a 2SS/RS in his post.

OP may very well have a 2SS/RS, but I don't see that in the post... though seeing 2012 SS/RS, kinda blends to look that way. I also checked the OP "drives" to see if there was clarification there, but it only shows "2012 Camaro SS". I double and triple checked it before posting to try to avoid sticking foot in mouth, but of course that doesn't always prevent me from overlooking something anyway!
If I DID overlook the 2SS in the post, I apologize! Quote:

BTW would the posts required to secure the tonneau cover be included in the hardware kit? mwhitnee, 2012 2SS/RS, 9,500 miles, yellow w/black rally stripes |

This picture is of the top and back of the rear seat where the posts are (or should be). This pic has the trim piece at the top removed to show it more clearly. |
