1LE Camaro to deubt at SEMA

I just got my latest Autoweek and they are reporting that Chevrolet will show a 1LE concept Camaro at Sema with track ready suspension. Anyone have further details? Any possibility of production?

1le. Ls3 with zl1 suspension. Ss suspension is not track ready. The third gens had a 1le package that included huge sway bars bigger brakes, stiffer springs a/c delete, etc. a v6 with SS suspension would just handicap a car that already has problems going around a track.

If this is true IMHO the 1LE should be a 1SS with no extra goodies except a track pack

Yeah, I got the FE3 suspension pretty cheap off of the classifieds here and even though it handles better its still not very good. Definitely not track ready. The new FE4 SS suspension is supposed to be much better.

A performance model SS with ZL1 parts. What that includes who knows, but I'd say it has all the suspension goodies from teh ZL1 except the mag ride. Might have pedders coilovers too.

I did the same thing. Got my struts and springs really cheap off a 1000 mile SS. The car handles way better. No body roll and it feels much more planted during high speed turns. The Pfadt Sways help too!

I wonder what this 1LE will be all about?!

If they do it, I hope they do it more like the other 1LE cars and offer just the performance items and nothing else.

I had one of 135 built 1994 1LE Z28's and my father still has 1 of 11 built 99 SS 1LE cars.

No A/C, crank windows, manual seats and all the go fast goodies!! I hope they found a way to get some LBS off the car too. My '94 was 3315lbs w/o me

Yeah, the pdaft sways are why. Stock SS sways don't handle body roll all that well. I waiting for the ZL1 bars or the 1LE parts if it becomes more than a concept. I know that some of the front control arms on the ZL1 have been upgraded, and all the bushings as well. Look for it to have those.
