Confused About A 1LE?
Ok, Im familiar with 1SS, 2SS, LT, 2SSRS, etc but I'm not familar with a 1LE. I was reading a thread where someone was asking the difference between the suspension in a SS and 1LE. That's where I got confused. I thought a 2SSRS was like the best version of an SS that you could get but where does the 1LE come into play? My 2010 was a 2SSRS but now Im going to get a 2014 but want to make sure I know everything i need to know before doing so.
So is a 1LE a stand alone model? Or is it similar to a package like the RS? Kind of like a 2SS1LE or something like that? Sorry for the dumb ass question but I could find a specific answer when searching. |

It's another package, so still an SS.
I think it's called Performance Package. Tires/wheels and suspension/gearing upgrade. Go for it if you are into tracking your car. 1/4 mile it's slightly slower due to gearing. So you can have a 2SS/RS 1LE make sense?

It's a performance track pack for the SS Camaro. So you can get a Camaro SS with the RS package and/or the 1LE pack.

Ohh ok, I'm not a track person at all so that probably wouldn't benefit me. Just gonna use it as my DD. No outer differences as far as look?

It is a road race/track package, not designed as a drag package. It will turn!! Also opens up other options like NPP and Recaros

Black ZL1 10 spoke rims, flat black vinyl wrapped hood, black spoiler and black splitter are the visual differences I can think of

It's called the SS 1LE Performance Package. From the Chevrolet.com website: "This SS 1LE Performance Package bears the iconic 1LE option code that is a CamaroŽ legend. This competition-ready package has been coveted by both Camaro owners and track enthusiasts. This SS 1LE Performance Package includes:
1 Summer-only tires tend to wear faster and are more susceptible to damage from road hazards or curb impact than standard profile tires. This type of damage is not covered by the GM New Vehicle Limited Warranty. You may want to get different tires if you expect to drive in winter conditions. See your dealer for proper tire selection." MSRP is listed as $3500. You can go to the chevrolet.com website, select the Coupe version, "Build Your Own" and select the 1LE Performance Package - that's where the above info is from.

The 1LE package is the best performance bang for your buck..for 3500...the rims and tires cost more than that to buy them seperately...I looooooove my 1LE..here is a pic of my 13 1SS/RS 1LE

The RS package is a sports appearance package. There's nothing performance related about it. 1LE is an SS with a performance package for road racing.

I love that people continue to answer the original question a half hour after the OP posted that.

Like others have said, it is a "track pack". Easy to get confused on this site because people most often refer to it by the trim package name "1LE" instead of the model "SS".
Most people get the 1LE because they like the way it looks, not because they intend to track it or really get the most out of the performance benefits. For what you get, it is a decent value. |

Agreed it does offer a lot visually. And not everyone wants those soft tires especially on a DD. Would be replacing them every year.
