Long Tube Header Quandry!!

so.....Bear with me here. I have a maggie (3.8 pulley) on my LS3, I also have the cold air inductions CAI, stock exhaust with muffler delete with x-pipe. I am pretty happy with the performance and the sound, but I think im a set of Long tube headers / high flow cats away from being happy. From what i understand, the long tubes will rob me of about 1 psi from the supercharger. To get it back, i can either add the 3.6 pulley and tune it but more than likely i will be running into the issue of running out of fuel due to the factory fuel pump. I have elected to go ahead and take the loss and just use a quality tune to let it breathe easier and settle for about 30 rwhp in addition to what i have now. I want a good set of quality headers with a ceramic coating. I have the polished maggie so i dont feel like going with a cheap finish. Im running out of funds for mods so I need to do something that is cost effective that gives me the best bang for the buck.....

so....must be 1 7/8 long tubes with ceramic coated stainless and high flow cats.........what is the best bang for the buck?

Hey Karma.....

Any word on if DT is going to add an option to have High Flow cats for their LTs?

Nothing...I barely got notice today that 15 of my 30 Catbacks were finally going to be shipping out next week.

BOHICA!

I know one guy that bought a set from me a few weeks back MADE his own catted connection pipes. Trick to say the least and I'm sure cheaper.

Still bangin the monkey about em however useless as it may be.

Would be nice to see some options like my Kooks guys have. Good gosh.

Thanks for asking and hopefully we'll see some news soon.

Call Brandon at Maryland Speed. He has an unbeatable price for the Kooks header and cat system.

In the same boat as the OP...ready to pull the trigger but I'm being quoted $2,200 for headers, install and new tune!

Seems ...(LTs are ARH)I was thinking maybe $1200 for the LTs and $500 for the tune?

Most def interested in the best bang for the buck as OP stated!!

I just got the kooks from Maryland speed at the fest. Tremendous quality and fit. Install took about 2-3 hours (about an hour was lost going for a new rear o2). With that maggie you will see much bigger gains than I did but i can tell a considerable difference without a tune.

Dynatech... Same quality, lower cost... I have Dynatechs on my SS and had Kooks on my SRT8. They are both high quality, however the Dyna's were a few hundred less..

i decided on the Kooks.....I ordered from Brandon. got a great deal. Got the full inside/outside coating and the high flow cats. While talking to him, he mentioned that i should possibly switch out the 3.8 pulley for the 3.6 and then it would bring up the psi that i lost with the lt headers......He assured me that I would not starve on fuel as long as I kept it under 600 hp......any thoughts?

Dynatechs don't have a merge spike or merge collector. Price is normally the same or higher for Dynatech depending on who you buy from.
