My hubby had the strangest conversation with my dealer today. My GFX was finally delivered and have been looking into getting them painted the same color as the car (black). They informed him that GM has announced that they are voiding the warranty if they are painted??????? Something to do with the added weight (give me a break). By the way they were installing a GFX package on a car and using the dreaded double sided tape. I quickly told him to tell them they need to use the brackets as the tape won't hold (bone heads). Anyways long story short - has anyone heard of GM announcing this? Going to be making some calls tomorrow and raising holy stink on this if it turns out to be true.

Bunch of BS in my books - but the other tread has good notes on what others have being doing with their GFX. Not going to change my mind in installing them. But still crap (yes I am venting).

wow...that really pisses me off!

i got mine painted and installed, and nobody at the dealership mentioned a peep about it voiding the warranty. it's just paint...from the dealership, no less!

If your dealer does the install and paint they might still honer the warranty just ask them first.
