Fuel Economy Ratings

all in all a major dissapointment for me. 3860 lbs for the SS manual and only a measly 23mpg hwy! the last generation car is more economical! and notice in the press release where it says opt for the automatice to acheave 23mpg which leads me to beleave that the manual might be less. I saw that the 4th gen was rated at 28 mpg hwy

so the leasson here is save 20k and buy a 4th gen if you love camaros because this is just a overweight pretty looking pig
We all need to keep in mind that the Fuel Economy Ratings were adjusted this year. If you look at www.fueleconomy.gov for a 2002 Camaro V-8 with Auto it is now rated at 16 MPG City and 23 MPG Highway.

Six speed V-8 Rated - 17 MPG City and 26 MPG highway.

So to me it is a wash in that category.

The method that the EPA uses now to arrive at MPG figures is significantly different from when the last F-bod was tested for fuel mileage in '02.
I think that real-world numbers will compare more than favorably with the last 4th Gen cars once people have a chance to drive them and do their calculations.

Best regardSS,

Elie

Yeah, it says on Chevrolet's Camaro site that all trims will come with the limited slip diff.

Technically, according to the Camaro site, the L99 is an LS3, albeit slightly modified for the auto and the AFM.

As far as the White not being offered till July, I would guess it could play into an Indy Pace Car edition Scotty, your info was better than the reveal. If I didn't have a great dealer local, you would get the sale. I hope you are rewarded for your efforts here. You deserve it.

You guys do realize Transformers 2 comes out in July of 2009, aka Big promotion and that's probably why it was pushed back, right?

I just noticed the stripe option. That will be very cool. My wife is vomitting at the orange with white stripes. I just don't think the Victory Red with stripes will look good. Have to wait to see the actual car.

Thank you Elie! That's what I was thinking hence why the released MPG didn't bother me any. Now I gotta point those people to this post.

I saw some pics of a car that had Pirelli P-Zero's = runflat technology. no spare needed. only trouble is -- if you drive hard and wear the tires out fast, your looking at some major $$$$ to replace a set. good news is, if you hit a nail at 130+ MPH, your much more likely to survive the incident.
