Big difference between the two I have the 7424XP. Nice machine light & easy to handle. However you cannot compound with it. The machine is user freindly and you cannot get in trouble with. The Flex you can if you are new at this. The Flex is over $300. If I was going in that direction I would go for the Makita 9227 Rotary. About $210.00 and a better machine.
