Couldn't agree more. We need many vendors that offer good service and prices so we as consumers can make choices. Would be pretty damm boring if there was only one vendor. Competition with the vendors is a good thing in technology as it drives new ideas and innovation.

Everything is Greek until you start studying it! Gotta start somewhere. Minor changes for bigger wheels, gears, etc... are another plus. Most tuners will probably update you for free, but it's nice to be on your own schedule sometimes.

And equally important - keeps pricing for the consumer competitive.

HP Tuner:
$500.00 for the device
$150 for a Tune
Total $650

SCT Device:
$399.00 which includes the device and tune
Total $399

So I am saving $251 that I could put towards another mod to get a tune file to connect to my interface to upload a remote tune. I think if your a person that has those skills, then obviously the HP maybe better. But for the guys who don't mess with the files....SCT is the way to go. Just my opinion is all.
150 for a tune? HP tuners comes with 8 credits. Regardless this is a silly thread. Each tuner will and should use what they prefer.

MikeyG maybe you should look around I have seen bad things said about a few shops on your list.

I agree but it looks like tampa tuning is jealous of something I guess that's why he started a ford thread on a chevy board

And we've added tables requested by Howard at redline, Doug at ECS, Jason at lingenfelter. If there are tables requested we add them. What specifically is it we are missing? I know ALOT of things SCT is missing, and I know we are missing a handheld. Table wise though I'd love to know what we are missing that is a dealbreaker?

Yes you do, for us too, Thank you for the V6 Release.

A handheld would be nice

There's obviously a time and place for both of these tools. If HP tuners offered a quick handheld to store and load tunes with out buying extra credits and such it would put SCT out of business.

Also, no reason for the back and forth this shop is better than that shop. This is about SCT and HP tuners.

Does SCT have an actual VVE table? Or do you have to do the coefficients individually? I'm wishing I had a seat of EFI Live JUST for VE work. I have to open my tune, export to EQ<>VE, open an E40 sample tune, paste the VE table into the E40 VE low altd, adjust it, copy it back to EQ<>VE, close the E40 tune and open my tune back up, and paste the new equations back into my tune. How much more of a pain in the ass could it be?! The custom OS solves my problem, but I never seem to have time to mess with it any more.
