Where I am here in California, it can get well over one hundred in the Summer time, and it makes a HUGE difference!
Yeah it looks fine. Those tiny windows might as well not be there at all. I went as dark as possible on the back, and those little windows. And went lighter on the side windows.

I have 35% on the door windows, 5% on the small side windows and 20% on the rear window. You can't tell there is any difference unless you are REALLY looking for it...

Here you go. 35% on front side windows, 15% on rear quarter windows (triangles) and rear window.

What I recommend you do is get 35% on the sides including the two small windows and get 15% on the back if you really want to stay legal. Because the two windows on the sides are so small its not that noticeable if you get 35% or 15%. I had the same setup on my camaro. I did regret not getting 20% on the sides and staying with 15% on the back window. Go as dark as you can!

P.S. I agree with 2010 SSRS

Your plan should look great! Especially with your color Camaro. One big thing to consider is just how much tint you may need? As I eluded to, where I'm at in California, the sun is Bright and HOT, during summer. That's why I did what I did. While it looks good, the fact is I really did it as a matter of function. Good Luck...and post up some pics when you get the work done!

I have no problem with it and some people have legit reasons to go below 20....but we all know some guys run 5% and never get bothered, yet some run 15 and get stopped. In a small town, he will get stopped running anything near 10 on the sides. Remember these windows are pre-tinted (at least mine were) at about 80%. I asked for 25 and it pushed me closer to 19% based on the factory....

However, this guy seems like he wants to confirm he is within state limitation and not be bothered by small town police which will eventually tag him for it....

Taylor...take it from another Taylor. 35/15 will look fine. Done it before in a coupe and unless someone has OCD, no one will care.
Thanks for everyones opinions! I live in a town called Waverly, Iowa. We are known for having one of the highest police to people ratio in the United States. We have about 25 police in a town of around 10k people (That's about 1 cop for every 400 people). Just like with peope some of them are assholes and some are great guys (i have nothing against police in general).

When i was 16 i bought a Cadillac that had tinted windows of course it was a new car to me and i had to go cruise around and show my friends. That night i was pulled over 3 times in one night and written 1 ticket, i had had the car for about 6 hours, it is bad here.

Also all my freinds are car guys, in my group of friends we have a 95 Firebird Formula, a 2002 Supercharged Camaro SS, a 94 Trans Am, a 2000 Camaro SS, a 98 Camaro SS, a 96 Camaro Z28 and then mine when i get it and they are all saying i should go 15/10 so im getting it from both side. LMAO. Again i thank everybody for their help.

It there anything special that needs to be done with the automatic door windows that adjusts slightly when the door is open when applying the tint?? My guy comes on Saturday to do mine. If the window open slightly (goes down) when the door is open does this mean you can't go all the way down with the tint?

Just let the tint guy know that the windows index when you open the door. So he knows to leave a little extra tint on the bottom when he does the cutting. I didn't even have to tell me tint guy, he already knew and he did a great job.

Law varies by state, so check with your local shop.

In any case, when I lived in FL I had zero issues with tint. As soon as I moved back to IL I was stopped all the time.

We just stuck a ball point pen in the door latch.Leave doors open till the tint dries.
Remove pen,pull door handle,window drops,close door,don't roll down for a few days.
Try it,it works great.

I went 5% on the rear and rear quarter windows, and 20% on the doors, looks great. Don't worry about the difference between the side and rear quarter windows, it will look fine. At 5%, the whole window looks solid black, even when you are right next to it.

The ticket thing is really going to depend on where you're at. Here in AZ, they don't care how dark it is. When I lived in IA, my Silverado got pulled over every other week (seriously), even with AZ plates, never recieved a ticket (it's just a fix-it ticket anyway), and it was 5% on the extra cab side windows, and 20% on the rear and sides.

To the guy posting from IA, unless you like drawing a lot of police attention, I would not go darker than 35% on the front side windows, and even that is going to be illegal (80% in IA on the front according to the friendly troopers I met, no limit on front quarters or rear) and probably get you pulled over occasionally. The troopers in IA would pull out a small card with every states legal limit on it, and ask me if I ever got ticketed there, and tell me that my tint was too dark for AZ as well, I would typically reply that in AZ they are busy fighting crime, not harassing people about window tint... Still never got ticketed, but getting pulled over all of the time gets old after awhile.

I have had friends from AZ get pulled over in CA, and be forced to strip their tint with a razor in front of the LEO, not sure how that is legal, but it has happened.

Make sure that the person doing the tinting uses the right film on the rear window, or you will lose your radio reception.

The window indexing will not ruin the tint as long as you allow it to dry for a bit after it's applied.
