Checklist before I pickup brand new convertible this week!

Exciting times I'm finally pulling the trigger

What do I need to protect the car for a five hundred mile ride home via Interstate?

I know I should probably get mudguards, but what else if anything?

Thanks, and yes I will post pictures

All fluids topped off and air in tires. A good playlist and lots of stops just to take pics of the car with backgrounds you don't come across often. Stop at a biker bar and tip all the motorcycles parked in front.. like dominoes, jump in your car and drive the hell out of dodge. That's just me...

Run a standard safety test, all lights, wipers, washers, horn, parking brake.
Look in the trunk for your spare kit or inflator. Test the compressor if you have one.

Take a test drive to check steering and brakes. Hit some bumps for rattles or squeaks.

Is the dealer going to register the car? Insurance?
Set up the Onstar.

Full coffee mug.
Sunglasses, half a pack of cigarettes.

And figure out the radio before you hit the road. Worst experience of my life - trying to figure out a radio in the dark, in the rain, bumper-to-bumper 2 hour trip. (not the Camaro)
Do mud/splash guards help with rock chips or are they stupid?

Yes, the splash guards help prevent that. It is a good idea to get them. They also look good, too.

Can you find some back roads along the way. I don't think a long interstate ride like that is recommended during the break in period...

Take a slow, thorough walk around the car before you leave the dealership.Make sure you know how to use the tonneau cover if you're going top down. Link your phone to the car for the hands free.Sunscreen, GM windscreen, shades, good playlist, spare cash for the inevitable ticket!
