I don't know this from first hand because I'm married, but my friend from work just said "Not one girl I have taken home has ever asked me if my car is a V8. They just say how beautiful my car is and if they can go for a ride, so I'm good with that" lol

Forget the Naysayers
My V6 is every thing I wanted and then some.

Why save $10,000 on a car you didn't actually want?

Why insult and go back and forth every couple of days? Both are Camaros, both are works of art, and neither one is shameful to own. In fact if it wasn't for the V6's taking up 67% of sales there would be no V8's.

Brand new owner here of a ......V6...2LT/RS...and DAMN proud of it...I have wanted a Camaro my whole life and now I have it...it's my dream car...and in three or 4 years, I will hand it down to my son, and maybe than will I buy a V8.
In my case, I was headed back to Henna here in Austin to purchase a 2013 SS/RS that still had a factory warranty and was a CPO model, so that would have added another 12/12 Bumper to Bumper warranty...I decided to visit another dealer, which was closer and found the 2LT/RS in Ashen Grey which was is my favorite color...it was 500 less being brand new with only 4 miles on the ODO...Some of you are going to say, for 500.00 I would have bought the SS...First, i wasn't sold on the Silver and second...DO i really need 14mpg and a car I really cannot utilize all that HP without getting a wallet full of tickets. At least I did make sure it is a standard. I love it...love the gas mileage, and it's all mine and wasn't someone elses!! |

This ignores the fact that 6 and 4 cylinder Camaros (yup, Iron Duke powered Camaros, '82 to '84) were not the cars responsible for the Camaro's cult following. The names 'SS' and 'ZL-1' and 'z/28' mean more to the people that buy Camaros than the names 'Sport Coupe' and 'Berlinetta'. The V8 gets people in the showroom. A V6 never had a song written about it.

This is supposed to be a CAMARO enthusiast site. Not a V8 while tolerating V6 site. The OP asked a simple question that as a community we should have been able to answer without turning this into another V6 vs V8 thread. |

Ps I did give him the correct answer right below his post ( "A couple of tanks" )and it has turned into this . Sad Oh My bad that was another thread of a V6 owner asking how long it takes the computer to adjust with a higher octane fuel which also turned into a V8 vs V6 war |

I have never, even once as a joke bashed the V6 5Gen Camaro on this website, any other, or in real life. You may read my other posts here using the search function and see for yourself. I have only ever praised the V6 5gen. Here's an example for you: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...0&highlight=V6 Your comments were not about the V6 being a great value. They were about the V6 making the V8 model possible. I disagree. That does not mean I am demeaning the V6 camaro. In no way am I looking down my nose at V6 models or "tolerating" them. You're off base.
