Exactly. The problem with your question is that you're just asking for opinions. I liked the 4th gens and owned one of each body style ('97 and '00). I will say, though, that I initially didn't like the '98+ models. However, around the time my '97 got totaled, the '98+ models had grown on me to the point where I liked them a lot better than the '93-'97 models.

The 4th generation was designed using notable charactaristics of other cars of the time. Most noticable was the integrated spoiler copied from the Acura NSX. Even the C5 Corvette seemed to copy a Ferarri Testarossa with it's wide rear. The feature that I never cared for was the windshield going so far forward over the engine, to give the hood a shorter look, that it was hard see out of at times due to reflections.

I've always though the 4th gen is kind of "meh" in the looks department. Brought this up with my brother the other day and he agreed, but said they did drive great and have a great interior. I guess that's what should count, but when you can have a car as beautiful as the 5th gen...well...

I drive a 4th Gen as my daily driver and have since 93. I agreee, they really lost the look of the camaro in this model, but they did get the looks the when model came out. Just because it was different and people were curious. I think the 4th Gen will never hold a candle to the 5th Gen as far as style and old school muscle car look. IMO

Personally I liked the first generation camaro's which is why I got the Gen 5. I did like the 70's - 80's transams and firebirds though. Just preferred them to the same generation Camaro. |

I can tell you I still own two 4th Gen's a 2000 NBM V6 Camaro, and a 2001 LPM Z/28 (show car) and after test driving a 5th Gen back in May of this year I no longer enjoyed the 4th Gen. I drove my 01 Z/28 this past Tuesday and Wednesday and while it was fun the ride is harsh, the car has no room, it's not new and it's not fun.

No it's not time ,they were ugly then and still ugly now and will always be ugly. The trans am ruled the looks department in the 4 gen cars.

Mine was pretty sweet, however the proportions were not right on the 4th generation Camaro's (IMO). The overhangs were too long...
My 2SS/RS CGM LS3 should be built next week... |

* Admittedly biased as a 4th Gen. owner * With that said, the simple answer is; ABSOLUTELY NOT! Of course, now that the 5th Gen. has arrived, alot of people will look back at older Camaro's, and in this case, the 4th Gen., and see the "shortcomings". But in no way is the 4th Gen., or any Gen. Camaro "ugly". Surely, people have, and are entitled to, their opinions, but to call the 4th Gen., or any Camaro "ugly", IMO, is just ignorance. So, in summation, while you may not prefer the styling of the 4th Gen., it is far from "ugly". I rest my case. |

i think most of them look great. however sometimes the 98 and up can look like a cat fish.
although i love 3rd gens, which is the most hated generation. |
