AGP Turbo kit, forged bottom end, cam, head studs, dual pump and meth, injectors
Clutch to hold it, and 17's and m&h's to get Ya moving My car makes just shy of 1100rwhp On stock rear end, stock axles, stock driveshaft, stock heads, stock intake The key is keeping it off the track. I broke more parts trying to get a good time slip. That's where it gets expensive. Lot of the stock parts will last a long time if Ya keep her off the drag strip. Build a car that's not 4,000lbs if ya want a good time slip, that's what I'm doing.. JMO |

There's cars/trucks at 4,000lbs in the 8s and 7s.

Not much as people think, not trying to be funny but junkyard 5.3s and 6.0s go a long way. Going to try that theory myself real soon.

DDCK ran damn good at the track with his setup, but he built a more track oriented car so why break/mess up the daily?

What's funny about that? I've done it on an Fbody going to try something different on the 5th gen now. Not my 1st turbo setup no need to break the bank like many on here keep saying.
Edit: idk if you were joking but that's real good best I've done is a 9.77 on a turbo 5.3L Fbody.

Just funny how you pointed out fast 5.3s and Derrick has a turbo 5.3 that runs bottom 9s and should be into 8s soon enough.

Huh? Maybe I misread his post thought he was laughing at the 5.3 comment. Heck if i can't find a 6.0 I'm running one of those 5.3s again

It was funny cause I beat my head against the wall with the 5th gen trying to force her down the track. Did a best of 10.4 @141. Then go and spend a fourth of the money I have in the Camaro, on a stock 5.3 motored track oriented car and run 9.4 and then 9.2 at 152 on first shakedown passes. Made me feel a little silly after all the stress and money from before spent on the camaro in pursuit of a time slip.. Don't get me wrong I love my camaro and wouldn't trade it for anything, but when it came to running down the 1/4 mile she got awful frustrating. |
