MGW Shifter
Hi All thinking about replacing my factory ZL1 5.1 shifter in my 2015 SS ....I am having problems shifting into 3rd gear sometimes under WOT also the 5.1 shifter has lot of play when in any gear.... stick can move right to left 3/4" in 6 forward gears. R not so much..... The camaro only has 1600 miles on her will this fix the problems or is this just nature of the beast ....For the most part my camaro is a DD so I don't want install an MGW shifter and have vibrations or rattles I was researching posts on this site and some members reported bad vibrations/rattles with new MGW shifter but it looks like an amazing piece of hardware I did watch MGW install video so i do know what i am in for .... Any feedback or other shifter options would be helpful ... thanks guys

I have installed dozens and dozens of MGW shifters on GEN5 Camaros and C5, C6 and C7 Corvettes and have never had a vibration or noise issue. Never one complaint from any customer. I have done countless Hurst and B&M's as well. My Camaro is an automatic but if I had to choose one it would be a MGW based on my experience.

I changed to a Hurst and it was okay, but now have the MGW shifter. It is a quality product, you won't regret installing it in your car.

I have purchased and installed an MGW shifter after experiencing the difficult to find 3rd gear. It is definitely a vast improvement over stock and I can positively find 3rd all the time.
It is a little stiff on initial install but becomes comfortable after a week of daily driving. No slop and very positive. |

I've had the MGW shifter about 4-5 years. Still shifts great, even better now with the RPM Level V transmission. I've noticed a tendency when shifting from 5th to 6th it will go into 4th instead, so I have to remember to make sure I'm pushing it to the right to hit 6th for sure. Still better than the sloppy stock shifter.
