I drove from Knoxville to Lexington about a month ago and there was an area where the southbound lane had "fallen off the cliff". They were working to repair the road but the Northbound land was down to single file traffic. I am not sure where or who to contact but it would be a good idea to see if that area is opened back up before you plan a trip between Knoxville and Lexington on I75.

If that route is still out of commision pass through Nashville and up I65 all the way to Indy. I am not sure how many miles this might add.

Is Hamburg between the 2? And we have a new train of thought of the group from Atlanta possibly going through Nashvegas and picking up the more westerly folks and then meeting in Louisville.......dunno

Any thoughts?

Hamburg is actually in Lexington. It's a huge shopping center right off the interstate. I think it's exit 110 off I-75. We could meet there and then head up I-75 to Louisville. Be a good place to pull off.

Here's a small map of the stuff around hamburg. Artwork I know.

I vote for the Nashville route, just so we have longer to drive with the large group.

If you all decide to do the Nashville route, then I guess I would meet you guys in Lousiville.. I anyone from Lexington, Nicholasville, Richmond, or around that, that would like to meet up and drive to Lousiville hit me up. We could still meet in Hamburg..

I'd like to point out that you shave 30 minutes off the overall drive time going through Nashville.

Awesome. Once we get closer and figure out when they'll be getting to Louisville we can judge our time that way. Think you can make it all the way to Louisville on 1 tank of gas?

Yes, once we get our plans set, I will post in the other threads so that if there are any other stragglers, they can try to meet up. Take my word for this though, it's really hard to manage a "camarovan" when your groups gets too big. We might have some trailers, cars that get very low MPG, which means we have to stop more often, which means we have to leave earlier, which means it takes more time to travel, and we've gotta get to Indy to participate in the cruise

Awesome job MackMan! I vote you the team leader for the Kentucky crew, if you choose to accept the mission! I think we will take the Nashville route and meet you all in Louisville, hopefully north of town. We'll have to identify a place that's easy in, easy out!

Sounds like the tide is turning that way, with a bigger meet up in Louisville.

Let me know and I'll do another map. Maybe turn this into a vote thread?
