Cool Finished Installing my QUAD 4" tips, SOLO Axleback, and Modified stock diffuser Pics!

Installed he SOLO axleback, quad 4" angled, beveled, staggered tips, and I modified the stock diffuser with a dremel. I plan to get the ZL1 diffuser eventually, so the diffuser is temporary.

SOLO sounds really good, and I love the quad exhaust look. I might eventually move the tips back a little, thanks to the SOLO system being clamped on I can always adjust it, cut more of the old system off and slide it back and inch or two. But I had everything put on to fit the ZL1 diffuser perfectly, so when I get it, everything should fit fine.

These are just some iphone pics, enjoy.

Thanks,

The whole thing took me about 3-4 hours if I remember correctly.

1. First I installed the axleback, I ordered it without tips from SOLO. As long as you can lift the car up enough to have room to be comfortable, its easy. Mark the pipes, cut off with a sawzall, and work the old exhaust off. Slipping the old one and putting the clamps is easy as well, no leaks whatsoever.

2. Modifying the diffuser, this was kind of a bitch. Using a dremel, looking at tons of pics online of others diffusers and measuring, making a template and actually cutting took time, and then using sandpaper to clean up the edges. If you have done anything like it before, it wont be terrible, but isn't for everybody.

3. Welding the tips on and centering them, I left this to a professional, and it cost 50$ per side, and came out dead even.

The hardest part was messing with the diffuser, I would recommend if you have the money to get a ZL1 diffuser or buy a modified stock diffuser at the same time. I plan to do the ZL1 one eventually.

When you say "move the tips back" do you mean tucked in more? If so, I think they look good where they are.
When I had mine put on I had them extended out further than stock. Looks better IMO.

Yeah, I was thinking about having them tucked in more. But Im leaning more towards what you are saying, since the stagger on the tips, isnt as extreme as the angle of the bumper, moving them back at all will completely hide the inner tip.

Its a trade off, do you want it to look better from the side, or from the top.

I think standing at the trunk looking down, they look perfect, but from the side, sometimes they stick out too much. Either way I dont think im going to adjust them. When I get the ZL1 diffuser, ill see if it changes anything

cars are like women, some are old, some are new, some get turned on easily some need a lot more help, some you just wanna drive into the river, some you can't wait to get inside of, some are expensive to maintain, some are low maintenance, however if you treat them right, you'll have her for the rest of your life.....
