I am bringing this post back from the Dead, but I wanted to confirm part numbers for the Rear Calipers and this seems like the best place to do it. This is what I am planning to do:

For the fronts Calipers I am going to buy a OEM Take-Off Front Brake Kit (Calipers, Rotors, Pads, Hoses, Shields) for $350 through SLP. I am buying it just for the Calipers though, maybe someone will be interested in front Rotors, Pads, Hoses, and Shields after I get the kit ???

Then I want to get a Front/Rear set of R1 Concepts Rotors (Dimple and Slotted), Hawk Ceramic Pads, and Stoptech Stainless Steel Brake Lines through r1concepts, who is a forum sponsor.

That leaves me with just the rear Calipers. I have seen people say that all you need is as follows:

92233177 Driver side rear disc brake caliper. Without pads.
92233176 Passenger side rear disc brake pad. Without pads
89047728 Rear Pin Kit (2 sets required)

But I am concerned other items may be required such as:

89047739 Rear Boot Kit (2 sets may be needed ???)
89047731 Rear Piston Kit (2 sets may be needed ???)

Does anyone know if those last two parts are needed?

No, the last two parts are only needed if your rebuilding a rear caliper. Caliper should come ready to bolt on from the factory aside from pins and pads.

You can get those pin kits a whole lot cheaper from OReilly auto parts website too. That's what I did. They come as a set for both rear calipers for the same price any GM parts house wanted for just one side.

Very nice to see a thread like this, since I will upgrade the breaks soon.
The Brembo GT costs $3500 for the front only, so i guess SS Brembo will be my choise.

Bringing this back to life, but a questions as I'm upgrading mine to a set of the 1LE Brembos.

Im gonna get a set of the Goodridge lines. V6 vs V8 lines with the connection points does everything line up and connect to the car fine when putting on the V8 lines?

Well, went ahead and got one step closer this afternoon since I had time. Trimmed the rear rotor shield, cleaned it up and knocked it down with some paint so it wouldn't have a bare edge.

Now just waiting on the brakes.
